About George Baloghy, Artist

1950 Born Budapest, Hungary.
1957 Arrived in New Zealand as a refugee.
1974-7 Attended the University of Auckland School of Fine Arts graduating with Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), majoring in Photography and Painting.
First Solo Art Exibition at Barry Lett Galleries in Auckland in 1978. Since that time Baloghy has had twenty-nine solo Art Exhibitions in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Sydney and Melbourne. Also numerous group Art Exhibitions in New Zealand and overseas. He has been awarded two scholarships by the Queen Elizabeth Arts Council. Almost every major public Art Museum in New Zealand has at least a Baloghy painting in its collection.

Baloghy divides his time between Australia, Auckland City, and Hahei Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula.
